I’ve always had a vivid imagination. One might assume it spills over into my subconscious, but for the most part my dreams are calm and peaceful. One dream I find myself having often is the well-known going back to high school dream. Even though for some this may be more nightmare than dream for me it’s pretty tame. It’s mostly just a series of polite greetings and catching up with old classmates and teachers. I am a firm believer that dreams reveal things deep in our subconscious. What this dream says about me I’m not sure. Maybe the fact that it’s quite boring is a sign to make more adventures in my life. Another possibility is that I simply long to catch up with people from the past. I do hope all those old peers are doing well, and I’m sure if my dream became reality the interaction would be relatively similar to the one I dream up. Everytime I wake from this dream I find myself reaching out to old friends just to check in. It serves as my reminder to keep in contact with people I may not see as often, but still care about.
My weirdest dream that I have had started off normal, and like all dreams I thought it was real. I was on my phone and had received a message from someone random out of the blue. It felt so real and even the part where I half swipe as to not open it all the way, so they wouldn’t know I viewed it. I planned to leave it there unanswered, and show it to my friend the next time I see her so we can be shocked and laugh together about how weird it was. My dream then transformed into something, but when I woke up the next morning I had told my roommate about the message. The dream was so realistic that I genuinely believed it had happened, resulting in me feeling and looking crazy to my roommate actively searching for a message that didn’t exist. I don’t think the dream meant anything and just took random things from my life to fill in gaps. I assume because it was so believable to me that is why it felt so real and vivid.

I’m not sure if I would define this as my weirdest dream necessarily, but it was weird in that it also linked to an actual experience. I had gotten my driver’s license about a month prior to this dream. I was taking a nap, and I dreamt that I was driving my car with one of my friends in the passenger seat and another friend in the backseat. I could see who the friend in the passenger seat was, but not the one in the back. We were laughing when suddenly, I felt that my legs couldn’t reach the brakes. No matter what I did I couldn’t get them to the brakes. I woke up in a panic, but was quickly calmed when I realized it was a dream.
Fast forward a week. I was driving with two of my friends, one in the passenger side, one in the back. It was raining and we were going down a hill. I put my foot on the brake, but my car wouldn’t slow down. I tried breaking again and it would still not slow down. I saw a car ahead stopped at a light, but there were cars coming the other way and I had nowhere to go. I hit the car in front of me. Thankfully, no one got hurt, and it wasn’t until later that night that I remembered the dream I had a week or so beforehand. It was pretty much the exact thing that happened. It was determined that I hydroplaned in the rain and that is why my brakes didn’t work. To this day I remember that dream vividly, the way I felt in it, and feeling that exact same way when the accident happened.

My craziest dream that I can remember is probably a dream I had when I was around 10 or 11, and the most I can remember was me being in my school cafeteria and having accidentally eaten a handful of pennies and a fork. I ended up choking on the fork in the dream and woke myself up only to dry heave over the toilet because I thought I swallowed the items for real. 0/10 do not recommend.
I have weird dreams all the time. They are never nightmares, but they are weird. Once or twice a month I have a dream that all my teeth are falling out while I am trying to speak to someone. This dream usually occurs when I am anxious or have something important to do the next day. My mom also has this dream constantly, which makes it even weirder. This dream seems to be a product of stress and overbooking my life. Although it isn’t a nightmare, it usually feels like I have woken up from one when I open my eyes and have to make sure all my teeth are still in my mouth.
