Back, But Better

7 things back from the 70s, 80s and 90s

1.  JEAN JACKETS

Jean jackets are making their way back in style from the 80’s. The jackets can be seen on the young demographic in all different colors. In the 80’s, it was popular to purchase your denim jacket in white wash and decorate it with stitching of your favorite band logo.

2.  CHOKERS

The choker emerged originally in the 19th century and was worn by mostly royals. The necklace creeped up on us again in the ‘70s and was worn mostly by men. Now in 2018, we can’t imagine an era without the choker.

3.  JUMPERS/ ROMPERS

Rompers and jumpers were the biggest thing in the 80’s. Now, 40 years later, men and women are rocking the jumpsuit look.

4.  OVERALLS

Overalls are a trend we never thought would resurrect from the 90’s, but so many fashionistas are happy they did.

5.  PENCIL SKIRT

Pencil skirts emerged in the early 1950s. Years later, the tight skirt can become a staple in any woman’s closet for business casual meetings and professional events.

6.  SCRUNCHIES

Big scrunchies worn in women’s hair was a blooming trend in the late 80’s and emerged into the 90’s, as well. The art of the scrunchie has found its way back into our style today.

7.  HIGH WAISTED JEANS

High-waisted jeans and shorts were worn during the 70’s. The high-rise look has resurfaced in our style today.

STYLE THEN & NOW

No matter whether we think a trend is dying out, such as perms and velvet, we are almost always wrong. What goes up must come down and what goes out of style will eventually find its way back.
