Tom Brady Wins Seventh Super Bowl, Surpassing All NFL Teams

YouTube video highlighting key moments during Super Bowl LV.

Now that the dust has begun to settle on the Lombardi trophy in Tampa Bay, the discussion can begin for how historic this Buccaneers win really was.

Eighteen years after the franchise’s first Superbowl win, the Buccaneers have now expanded their trophy case to two in Tom Brady’s first season as a Buccaneer.

Speaking of trophy cases, Brady at age 43, just added a seventh Lombardi trophy and a fifth Super Bowl MVP to his. This is an achievement that no other person or team in the Super Bowl era has done. In Brady’s 10th Super Bowl appearance, he had 21 completions for 201 yards and three touchdown passes.

There are only two teams in the league who are right behind Brady in Super Bowl wins. Brady’s former team, the New England Patriots, have won six Super Bowls and the Pittsburgh Steelers have also won six. With the conclusion of Sunday’s Super Bowl, Brady, in 21 seasons, has won more Super Bowls than all 32 NFL teams. Which brings to mind the question, is Tom Brady the undisputed greatest quarterback of all time?

James King, a football fan, seems to think so.

“As much as I am not a fan of Tom Brady, he is undoubtedly the best quarterback of all time. What he lacks in physical prowess he makes up for in leadership, competitiveness and game IQ,” King said.

But there is one player who King believes could catch up to Brady at some point in his career:  the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs who lost on Sunday night.

“I think Patrick Mahomes is going to make a case for the greatest quarterback of all time. He has all the physical tools, he has a solid team around him and the coaching staff is incredible. Barring injury, he should win many Super Bowls,” King said.

Since Mahomes took over as quarterback in 2018, the Kansas City Chiefs have made it to three consecutive AFC Championships and two Super Bowls. The only two losses coming from none other than Tom Brady.

The Chiefs’ offense has been a powerhouse every year, that’s why fans like King were so surprised that they lost 31-9 to the Buccaneers.

“I was very surprised by the score of the game. The Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes have never lost by more than 8 points so to see them get blown out by double digits was pretty surprising. ” King said.

The Chiefs’ electric offense was held in check all night by the Bucs’ defense. Mahomes was held to 26 completions for 270 yards and two interceptions. There wasn’t one touchdown for the star quarterback all night.

“The most surprising part of the game was how the Buccaneers defense did not allow the Chiefs to score a touchdown. The injuries to Kansas City’s offensive line were definitely overlooked and it ended up causing Patrick Mahomes to run for his life,” King said.

It has been said that defense wins championships, and in this case, it did.

Once again, Tom Brady is a Super Bowl champion. At 43 years old, Brady is proving to the world that he can still play at an elite level. But, how much longer can he do it for?

Will he get number eight next year?
