If I were to have any job, I would dream of being a writer for Rolling Stone magazine. I’d love to cover the music scene in any capacity, whether that’s album reviews, concerts or profiles on bands or other artists in the industry – even if that means having to tame my inner fangirl. I also would like to cover current environmental issues and other science related topics or events. Rolling Stone is often known for its celebrity photoshoots, with one featured as the cover every month. I would love to be a part of the magic that occurs behind the scenes of these shoots, therefore dabbling in some photojournalism as well. I’m always amazed by the level of detail and presentation of each encapsulating story. I imagine and commend the effort that must go into each interview to not only prepare for it through research, but also to create an atmosphere that allows the figure they are profiling to feel comfortable about opening up about more vulnerable parts of their life. I think an opportunity to work at Rolling Stone alone would be enough to make my inner fangirl come out.

My interests vary so much, it’s hard for me to pinpoint exactly what I want to do. I would love to continue magazine writing after college, ideally in sports or environmental topics. However, I could also see myself working in a multimedia field, taking pictures and editing videos together. Although I’m not sure what exactly I want to do for the rest of my life, I do know that I am excited for wherever my career takes me.

My dream job would be to be a travel journalist for Time Magazine or National Geographic. I think that traveling the world and writing about different cultures’ music, traditions and subtleties would be a fulfilling experience. Additionally, since a young age I have had an innate desire to see the world with my own eyes, visit the wonders of the world, partake in foreign countries’ traditions and taste test cultural meals. Participating in any one of these activities would be a dream come true. I find it incredibly fascinating to see the way that other cultures work and the differences in people’s lives. I want to see how others from around the world live and experience it for myself. Plus, I think that I would drive myself crazy if I had a boring desk job. No offense meant to anyone who has a job such as that, but I think that getting out, seeing the world and getting paid for it is the best career out there.

Throughout my life, I’ve often envisioned myself in countless professions. From being a wildland firefighter, to a lobbyist in Washington, I’ve had many crazy ideas about what I wanted to do. While my ideas change with the wind, there has always been one job I’ve had in the back of my mind that I think would be amazing. I stumbled upon this job while watching the nature documentary Blue Planet; the visuals and exotic locations this documentary had shown me blew me away. I thought to myself, that to be the person behind the camera getting those scenes would be an experience unlike any other, on top of getting paid for it as well. Being able to view the most majestic parts of nature and the adventure to go along with it would make the perfect job.

My dream job is to be a fashion journalist. I would love to write about how different cultures represent themselves through clothing as well as travel to different countries to better understand specific cultures. I believe that it is important to experience different cultures and communities to get a good grasp on who people are and what they represent.

My dream job is to work for a publication under their sports column. I’ve always loved sports, whether I was playing or watching. Overall, I want to be a writer and be able to change up the topics I write about here and there.
