APN’s Favorite Halloween Movies

My favorite scary movie to watch during Halloween is probably “Jennifer’s Body.” I first saw it during a sleepover with my cousins almost 15 years ago, and the comedy mixed with horror still makes me laugh in between the screams. Jennifer Check has gone down as one of Megan Fox’s most iconic characters, and for good reason.

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. I love to binge-watch scary movies during the last week of October because it gives me more of a scare than watching them at any other time of the year. Some of my favorite scary movies are “It,” “Terrifier,” “The Nun,” “The Conjuring,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Scream,” “The Exorcist,” and “The Shining.” Honestly, the list of scary movies could go on forever, but I also love some traditional Halloween movies. Some of my favorites are “Halloweentown,” “Casper,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Beetlejuice,” “Corpse Bride,” “Addams Family Values,” and many more. I also enjoy the spooky atmosphere, carving pumpkins, and dressing up in creative costumes. The thrill of decorating the house with cobwebs, skeletons, and eerie lighting adds to the excitement of the season. Trick-or-treating with friends and family, and attending Halloween parties are some of the highlights for me. The creativity and effort that go into creating unique costumes and spooky decorations never fail to impress me. Overall, Halloween is a time for fun, thrills and making lasting memories with loved ones

I love Halloween because it kicks off the holiday season. The weather is getting cooler, fall is in full swing, and the next few months are my favorite times of the year. I have never particularly enjoyed trick-or-treating though, so I must find other ways to be festive. My favorite thing is to watch Halloween themed movies. Here is a poem I wrote about my favorite one:

Dressing up for Halloween can be so much fun

But staying in to watch some movies is my number one

There’s Elm Street, Scream and Saw

Those are all so scary

Don’t look in the mirror, or thrice say Bloody Mary!

My favorite one is not so scary, but it has some grossness.

Get the candy and the popcorn, and let’s watch Hocus Pocus!

Halloween is my favorite time of year. It brings back so many memories from my childhood and spending time with my family. My favorite Halloween movie is the “Scary Movie” franchise. Number one is by far the best, but each movie will give you a laugh. The movies essentially make fun of other scary movies in a cheesy and somewhat inappropriate way. This movie makes me think of when I was in middle school and my older brother and cousins let me watch it with them on Halloween night, without my parents knowing. I felt so cool hanging out with the older kids and it really made me feel like I was growing up. I watch the movie every year around Halloween time and it always makes me smile. It may not be a traditional Halloween movie, but it always reminds me of the holiday.
