Calling all single people! With Valentine’s Day being around the corner, the loneliness seeps in further as you watch couples all loved up, getting ready for the big day. Just because couples are feeling the love doesn’t mean you can’t too! Here are a few ways to make the most of the holiday when you’re single:

April Wright, sales associate at 25 Silver Boutique in Plattsburgh, N.Y., said, “I would say just hang out with friends and find something to do on that day.”

“I’m seeing a movie with my friends this weekend,” said Amelia Steves, a SUNY Plattsburgh student.

 

2.) See A Movie By Yourself

Make Valentiimg_0408ne’s Day your day! Experience and go to different events on your own and prove that you can still have fun without a significant other. Seeing a movie on your own is a great way to start your Valentine’s Day!

For example, A Dog’s Purpose is currently in theaters. This movie is about a dog living different lives. It’s heartfelt and a tear jerker but perfect for dog lovers. How can you go wrong with some puppy love on Valentine’s Day?

3.) Netflix and Chill

Who needs a significant other when Netflix has everything you need? Kick back on your couch or bed and binge watch your favorite show.

 You know what they say, “Chocolate makes the world go around,” and Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to eat some! It’s a cure for your single blues.

5.)  Quality Time

“It doesn’t have to be about the people you’re romantically involved with,” said Amber Johnson, another SUNY Plattsburgh student,”make it about your family.”

Go bowling or go out to dinner and just spend time with your loved ones on Valentine’s Day. It’s all about the love and shouldn’t matter who you choose to celebrate with!
