Bye-Bye Dark Spots

Summer is around the corner, and if you are anything like me, the chub rub is real!

By chub rub, I mean the dark spots produced on skin due to friction. These spots commonly occur on inner thighs, underarms, neck, knees and elbows. There are many bleaching creams on the market that can help eliminate blemishes. However, some people may wish to avoid creams with chemicals in them. For me, the combination of licorice root powder and vegetable glycerine is a natural, effective way for removing blemishes!

Most people bleach their skin in search of perfection. Yesmin Taveras, underwent a chemical facial peel when she was 13 years old. “It was horrible being a teenager with so many pimples,” she said after explaining how the treatment burned her face. The bleaching cream this doctor prescribed only made it worse. She then went to a more experienced dermatologist and underwent a chemically-based bleaching treatment.

“If I wasn’t young and desperate to look good, I would’ve used natural resources to clear my skin,” she said.

Licorice root powder is widely used around the world as a medicinal herb. It’s also used as an antidepressant, but when combined with vegetable glycerin, which is used as a cleanser and toner, I’ve found that it removes dark spots.

I came across the idea from a video by beauty blogger Farah Dhukai. She says that the more you use it, the better the results. I tried this treatment once a week for three weeks, and it worked just fine.

The product smells like tree bark, but it’s not strong enough to get overwhelming. It feels a bit warm against your skin, but it doesn’t burn. I used the product on my inner thighs as well, but it didn’t work as fast. Just keep putting it on, and don’t get discouraged!

Of course, you should always consult with a skincare professional or physician before starting a new skin treatment.

BEFORE putting the solution on a large area, try a small patch to test for any allergic reaction. If a reaction does occur, contact a doctor.
