Making your own cleanser at home is simple and cheap. There is nothing more satisfying than taking your own hand-crafted bar of soap into your shower. Regardless of whether you’re venturing out in the hopes of finding a better alternative to commercial brand soaps or just bored looking for a new creative hobby, making soaps is fun, cheap and easy.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Clear Glycerin
Tray/ Soap Mold
Essential Oils
Food Coloring
There are so many new ways of making you own soap. This happens to be the easiest and my favorite. In order to show how easy it is, I had my 10-year-old cousin, Angelina Rosario, demonstrate via video. Keeping in theme with the holiday season, we chose cinnamon gingerbread men soaps.
STEPS TO MAKING YOUR VERY OWN SOAP:
Step One: Unwrap your glycerin and cut into the cubes already outlined for you.
Step Two: Place Glycerin in a microwaveable bowl and heat in the microwave for one minute until completely melted into liquid.
Step Three: Once melted, add the essential oil of your choice. We’ve used cinnamon oil.
Step Four: Add food coloring and mix them together.
Step Five: After mixing all ingredients together, grab your mold and begin to fill. It’ll take about an hour for you soap to set and harden.
Step Six: With your soap now hardened, pop it out of the mold and onto your soap dish. Ready to use immediately.
