5 Self-Love Date Ideas

In 2022, many of us don’t need a prince charming to come sweep us off our feet. Why would we need him when we already have a long-term relationship with no one other than ourselves. At the end of the day, we will always have our own company, whether we like it or not. Don’t leave the cute date outings to sappy couples, take yourself out on a date!

The following are five self-love date ideas:

1. Bookstore browsing with a side of coffee

Head over to your favorite coffee shop to grab a cup of your favorite liquid love. This will be your familiar companion as you find the nearest bookstore to get lost in. While you browse the rows and rows of literature, you may be looking for a book that calls to you from its shelf, or you might choose to use this time as a relaxing stroll to clear your head. Whatever goal you set or don’t set for yourself on this journey, at the very least focus on enjoying your own company. By the end of your date you may even leave with a handful of new, paperback companions.

2. Museum art appreciation

Museums are designed for you to get lost in. This can come in the form of losing yourself in the artwork your senses are taking in or even physically getting lost in the building. Both of these options are a win-win because both can lead you down new paths that you might not have discovered with someone else accompanying you. There’s no better way to contemplate and observe the masterpieces before you other than doing it alone. No distractions. Just you, yourself and art.

3. Scenic drive and jam session

If you have a car, now would be the time to get a full tank of gas, fire up your favorite playlist and drive your favorite route – bonus points if it’s scenic. You may also opt to just wander with no specific route or destination in mind. Driving itself is very therapeutic to some people, and screaming the lyrics to your favorite songs makes it that much better. This is a great way to allow yourself to release any bottled up emotions. My only advice is to disregard any glances from passing cars. After all, your musical performance is for you, not them.

4. Walk in the park

Exercise is another great outlet for venting emotions. Physical activity requires you to listen to your body and shut out external distractions. A walk in your favorite park will loosen up your body and take in the fresh air to allow for a clearer mind. You will also be exposed to the various sights and sounds of nature. On your self-love stroll you may even encounter some furry friends along the way, releasing more endorphins if you are into that sort of thing.

5. Pamper yourself with a spa day

This one may require booking and planning it in advance, but it will give you something to look forward to. Booking a massage or a facial will not only provide forced relaxation, but you will leave your appointment feeling fresh and glowing with confidence. Use this time to look good for yourself and not for others; you will feel even more girlboss that way.

This list includes just a few of the many ways in which you can treat yourself with a little self-love. You know yourself better than anyone else and that is a powerful thing. No matter how many situationships or relationships you have been in, no one can top the relationship you have with yourself.
